Cambridge Latin
Elementary • Middle
Our Cambridge Latin Program provides an enjoyable and carefully paced introduction to the Latin language, complemented by background information on Roman culture and civilization. Our materials progress from simple stories adapted from original texts to the original texts themselves. The readings are accompanied by explanations of key language points and are supported by grammar practice exercises. The main emphasis, however, is on learning how to read Latin, not on being drilled repetitively on the finer points of grammar, making Cambridge Latin an ideal program for both elementary and middle school students.
Features
-
The most successful Latin program in the United Kingdom, used by 85% of Latin-teaching schools
-
Immerse yourself in the language and culture of the Roman Empire by learning to read Latin from the very first page
-
Develop reading skills aided by grammar, mainly using inductive over deductive thinking
-
Both Eduqas and OCR examination boards endorse the Cambridge program for GCSE teaching

Oxford Latin
Middle • High
Our most popular program, Oxford Latin combines the best features of both modern and traditional methods, a balance of both the inductive and deductive approaches to learning Latin. In other words, it provides an exciting introduction to Latin based on the reading of narrative passages and original texts by Roman authors, while an equal emphasis is placed on a clear presentation of grammar with a greater number and variety of exercises. Our materials flow at a quicker pace, a wider variety of complex sentence structures is introduced earlier and at greater length, and the grammatical patterns to reinforce retention are repeated less than other reading-based Latin programs, making Oxford Latin suitable for those middle and high school students eager to learn more quickly and get ahead.
Features
-
A college-level program, our longest-running and most successful at preparing high school students, past and present, score the highest on high-stakes exams like the SAT, AP, and IB
-
Read Latin from the very first page while establishing a solid foundation in Latin grammar, using inductive and deductive thinking in equal measure

Grammar Latin
Middle • High
Grammar Latin is the perfect fit for the traditionalist at heart, who is most at ease learning Latin as it has been taught for many years. The core of the traditional approach is the study of Latin grammar, presented deductively, and then practiced through various types of exercises–translations, both from Latin to English and vice versa, oral work, and simple original composition. However, when students learn the grammar, they are not simply given forms and charts to be memorized rotely. Instead, they read lessons and literature from the great ancient writers who used the grammar in a meaningful context. The focus on Latin grammar, as well as the emphasis on the philosophical and literary culture of the Roman world, makes Grammar Latin not only a Latin language program, but also a fine introduction to classical humanism and the original writings of ancient authors. Students with an analytical mind whose meticulous natures seek clear and explicit explanations excel in Grammar Latin.
Features
-
A college-level program, thorough and concise, preserving the best features of a time-honored curriculum used for over a millennium while adapting to 21st century demands
-
An excellent choice for those planning on taking Latin exams and participating in Latin competitions at the most advanced level
-
Master the grammar forms and inflections of Latin to prepare for the AP, IB, and other high-stakes exams by using deductive thinking based on rules and logic

Natural Latin
Middle • High
Natural Latin trains students to learn Latin without resorting to translation, but instead by teaching them to think in the language. Grammar and vocabulary are learned inductively through extended contextual readings that provide plenty of repetition and clues for comprehension. The astute student in time absorbs the meaning and does not have to make any effort at mental translation, just as the intuitive child learns to read his own native language, naturally and effortlessly, without being taught the rules of grammar. It is only when the student can read Latin that we study Donatus’s Ars Grammatica, the standard Latin school text for a millennium. Afterward, we closely read the prose and poetry of the most celebrated Latin writers. Students who enjoy reading books in English above their grade level excel in Natural Latin.
Features
-
A scientifically proven method of learning modern languages applied to the ancient tongue, increasingly popular among both high school and college students today
-
Learn Latin in Latin by reading simple stories and intuitively building up your knowledge of the language to read the original prose and poetry of the Romans
-
The ultimate objective is not only to read Latin but also to think, speak, and write in the language with comprehension, fluency, and ease by using inductive thinking

ASAP Latin
High
ASAP Latin is reserved for the intellectually mature high school student willing to study Latin rigorously at the college level. Our ASAP program combines the best features of the modern and the traditional methods of learning Latin. From the modern method, we accept that the aim of any Latin course should be the acquisition of reading skills and that everything else, linguistically speaking, should be subordinate to this aim. We also believe firmly in the necessity of learning vocabulary and grammar thoroughly, and so we tabulate all grammar in the traditional form, though the order in which we introduce it is not traditional. The conscientious beginner in ASAP Latin can complete the fundamentals of Latin and rise up to the advanced AP level within a year.
Features
-
An intensive college-level program, most successful at preparing high school students to score the highest on high-stakes exams like the SAT, AP, and IB in the shortest time possible

AP Latin
High
Prepare for and take the AP Latin Exam while competing in international contests at the highest level.
College Credit
According to the College Board, students taking AP Latin are typically in their fourth year of high-school-level study. It is equivalent to an upper-intermediate university Latin course, typically taken during the fourth or fifth semester in college. Universities award up to 12 semester hours of college coursework to students who successfully complete the AP Latin Exam. This allows a first year college student to skip 4 semesters of college Latin and study with third and fourth year students pursuing majors and minors in classical studies.
Our AP Curriculum
Many AP Latin courses at both private and public high schools in the US do not complete all the reading requirements on time, leaving students ill-prepared for the exam. Our curriculum includes the critical and in-depth study of all the reading selections that will appear on the exam, with plenty of room to spare for a thorough review in the end, ensuring that our students attain the highest possible score.
