The following governs the relationship between Emerson Latin and those who engage its services. Please read carefully before proceeding.
Effective as of January 2026 · Texas, USAThese terms and conditions govern the provision of educational services by Emerson Latin LLC, a limited liability company organized and operating under the laws of the State of Texas, USA. They apply to all clients, students, and guardians who access or use Emerson Latin's programs, whether in an ongoing or prospective capacity.
Emerson Latin reserves the right to revise these terms at any time. Any amendments take effect immediately upon publication. Continued use of our services following any revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. It is the client's responsibility to review these terms periodically.
Emerson Latin offers instruction in Latin and classical humanities. Programs are delivered in two formats:
The specific curriculum, schedule, and delivery method for any given program will be communicated prior to enrollment. Emerson Latin reserves the right to modify program offerings, adjust course content, or discontinue specific programs with reasonable notice to enrolled clients.
All fees must be paid in full before services commence. Enrollment is not confirmed until payment has been received and processed.
Tuition for small group classes is due in full before the start of each term. A term typically comprises ten sessions. Payment of a deposit equal to 50% of the applicable tuition will reserve a seat; the remaining balance must be settled before the first session.
Tuition for individual tutorials is due before the commencement of each session. Emerson Latin does not extend credit for future sessions until prior sessions have been settled.
Tuition rates are determined on an hourly basis, adjusted according to the number and type of sessions enrolled. Discounts may be available for early registration; however, such discounts apply only upon receipt of full payment. A deposit alone does not qualify for any discounted rate.
| Payment Type | Due | Discount Eligibility |
|---|---|---|
| Full tuition (group term) | Before first session | Eligible if paid early, in full |
| Deposit (50%) | At enrollment | Not eligible for discount |
| Full tuition (1:1 tutorial) | Before each session | As applicable |
Payments are processed through Stripe. In the event of a refund, the applicable Stripe processing fee — currently 5.4% of the transaction amount plus $0.30, plus any per-transaction refund fee — will be deducted from the refunded sum. This fee is assessed by the payment processor and is not retained by Emerson Latin.
A client who wishes to withdraw from a group class may receive a refund of the remaining unused portion of tuition, provided that fewer than half of the sessions in the term have been completed at the time of the request. No refund will be issued once more than half of the term's sessions have taken place.
A cancellation made before the course or tutorial series begins may result in a refund of 50% of the deposit paid. The remaining 50% of the deposit is non-refundable and reflects the administrative cost of reserving the placement.
Given that 1:1 tutorial fees are paid on a per-session basis, no refund is available for sessions already paid and completed. Where a session is canceled by the client with insufficient notice, the session fee may be forfeited at Emerson Latin's discretion.
Requests to reschedule a session are accommodated where possible, subject to availability. Emerson Latin does not guarantee that a preferred alternative time will be available. Rescheduling does not entitle the client to any refund or credit if an alternative cannot be arranged.
In the unlikely event that Emerson Latin must cancel a session or terminate a program, enrolled clients will receive a full refund of fees paid for the canceled sessions. Emerson Latin's liability in such circumstances is limited to the refund of fees paid; no additional compensation will be owed.
Clients and students are expected to attend sessions punctually and to engage with the material in good faith. Emerson Latin does not issue credits or refunds for sessions missed by the client.
All participants are expected to conduct themselves with courtesy toward the instructor and, where applicable, toward fellow students. Emerson Latin reserves the right to withdraw a student from a program — without refund of the remaining balance — if their conduct materially disrupts the learning environment or is otherwise incompatible with the standards of the program.
All materials prepared and shared by Emerson Latin in the course of instruction — including but not limited to written notes, exercises, reading lists, and supplementary texts — are the intellectual property of Emerson Latin LLC. Such materials are licensed for personal, non-commercial use within the immediate household of the enrolled student.
Clients may not reproduce, distribute, publish, or otherwise make available these materials to third parties, whether for compensation or otherwise, without the prior written consent of Emerson Latin. Unauthorized distribution is a breach of these terms and may constitute infringement of applicable intellectual property law.
Emerson Latin collects personal information — including names, contact details, and payment information — solely for the purposes of administering enrollment, communicating with clients, and processing payments. This information is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties, except as required by law or as necessary to process transactions through Stripe.
By enrolling in any Emerson Latin program, you consent to the collection and use of your information in accordance with these principles. Clients may request correction or deletion of their personal data at any time by contacting Emerson Latin directly.
