Individual students recognized for exceptional achievement, formation, and distinction

AP Latin Examination — 2025

Jonghyun Seo of Korean Minjok Leadership Academy and Sean Seungwoo Lee of Chadwick International each received a 5 on the 2025 AP Latin Examination. Two students, two of Korea’s most contrasting academic environments, one standard — and both met it. Both have also earned Gold Medals and Summa Cum Laude honors in international Latin competitions.

AP Latin Examination — Four Perfect Scores

Susie Yang, Gene Yang, Hunjae Lee, and Jerome Kwon each received a 5 on the 2024 AP Latin Examination — the highest score the College Board awards, earned by fewer than 12% of candidates. They arrived from four different academic backgrounds, by four different routes, and reached the same result.

Elena Lee received a 5 on the AP Latin Examination — the highest possible score — after completing the full Emerson Latin curriculum in considerably less than the typical time. She has since been admitted to Oxford, Princeton, and several other leading universities.

Hyuksun Kwon’s paper on Nietzsche, anti-Semitism, and Nazi racial theory has been accepted for publication in The Concord Review — the only journal in the world devoted to the academic history papers of secondary school students.
