Congratulations, Emerson Latin Scholars!

We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Emerson Latin students in the 2024-2025 Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) International Latin Translation Exam!

About the CAMWS International Latin Translation Contest

The Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) International Latin Translation Exam is a prestigious academic competition for high school and university students across North America that challenges students' Latin translation skills. What sets this competition apart is that unlike other contests, where prizes may be more plentiful, only a select few of the best entries are awarded prizes. This makes our students' achievements all the more impressive.

This year's exam involved:

  • 27 participating schools in the Secondary Division

  • 167 total exams submitted in the Intermediate level

  • Rigorous, blind grading using AP-style translation "chunks"
